Enough Already!

We all have times when we feel overwhelmed or exhausted from our efforts, and think the answer is to quit. I must confess, fall has been particularly challenging for me. I had planned to be busy with projects, but not with the multitude of unexpected challenges added to my life (e.g., hit and run car accident, confrontation with a neighbor, leaky windows, and broken bed, to name just a few).

I wrote this article before things got particularly difficult. (Interesting, eh?) I find as I review it now, that I feel less overwhelmed, and I am inspired to get back to work. I hope you find it helpful as well.



6 Weeks to Enjoying and Appreciating Our Life As It Is

There are 5 weeks till Christmas. Six till the New Year. More or less. Eek! This fall has been a challenging and difficult time for so many people. Election, economy, family stuff – it seems to be a time of difficulties for many. In these slump periods, it is hard to keep your energy, to be positive and hopeful.

Yet there must be way. Our happiness, contentment, (dare I say it) our joy – must not be dependent on others or on our circumstances. This must be something we can address. Our mental state depends on it, and so (research indicates) does our physical health and overall well being. (more…)

What am I doing?

Someone asked me how I manage to have leftovers – so I thought I’d share my strategy – which I have learned from Paul McKenna’s “I Can Make You Thin” program (see It is so simple, yet so very different for me. I now allow myself to eat whatever I want, whenever I want, as long as I am hungry, and I savor every bite. (more…)
