Week 2 of Enjoying and Appreciating Life As It Is

Thanksgiving is behind us here in the US.  And the holiday shopping frenzy is ramping up.  It can be easy to forget what giving really is.  It can also be easy to think we have too little to offer.  So here’s this week’s suggestion.

Collect your loose change for 1 week – and give it to the cause of your choosing. Save the change from your daily trek to the coffee shop, or collect the change from your car or sofa.  Then give it away.  Give it to the homeless man you see on your commute to work every day,  drop it in the Salvation Army bucket outside the grocery store, or write a check for any amount and mail it to your neighborhood church, or any charitable organization that moves you.  If you have a friend who is between jobs right now and struggling, give the change to them.  Maybe slip an envelope of your collected change under their door anonymously.

This is not an activity about the amount you give, its about the act of giving to help out someone else.  It’s only a week.  It’s only loose change.  Enjoy.
