How to discover your passion

My friend Mary recently said to me, “I know I’m not satisfied in my current job/career.  But I don’t know what I want to do!  How do I figure that out?  So that I don’t end up changing for the sake of change, and even more miserable than I am now!”

Once people hear that I walked away from my former job and career over a year ago, one of the first things they ask me is – how did you figure out what you wanted to do?  So in this blog, I’m going to tell you what I did, and what worked for me.

Is focusing on our weaknesses worth the trouble?

I was talking with a colleague a few week ago – and he had decided to take some aggressive action to make progress in his life.  He started by asking those close to him to give him 2 lists:  his top  5 core strengths and his top 5 key weaknesses. 

My first thought was, how courageous.

What is “enough”?

This quote found its way to my inbox the other day: “If my aim is to prove I am ‘enough,’ the project goes on to infinity — because the battle was already lost on the day I conceded the issue was debatable.” – Nathaniel Branson 

It was followed by the question:  What would your life look like if you KNEW you were enough – exactly the way you are?
